So I keep hearing people raving about Lush products. I finally broke down and decided to order a few things online.
When my package arrived I was really disappointed to see how little my money bought. Even though it decribes in weight how big things are - it's hard to get the perspective online.
$7 for a smallish soap and over $8 for a very small bottle of body wash (3 oz). Yes the stuff smells good - but I'm just not rich enough to spend so much for such a small amount of product!
I spent $30 for a box of 4 products that is about 6" x 5"!

Re: Lush Products
Wed, October 25, 2006 - 9:00 PMI was turned on to Lush products in London in 1999 and at that time you had to order either from London or Canada.
Once they started opening stores in the US, I think the price/quantity ratio really got lost to greed, and some of the most wonderful products were discontinued.
I was really saddened to go into the shop in Pasadena a few months ago hoping for a quick stop in for a birthday gift and just could not bring myself to spend upwards of $30 for something that looked like it did and should cost about $10.
I've moved on, alas, until they figure it out as well as they had it down seven years ago.

Re: Lush Products
Thu, October 26, 2006 - 4:01 AMThe other thing that I don't like about Lush products is that some of their ingredients are on the toxic side and not as natural as they would first appear. Lush have been in Australia for a long time and have declined in quality and gone up in price since they first opened. Never mind, have moved on to personal care products that have certified organic ingredients and not a 'number' in sight in their ingredients lists.

Re: Lush Products
Fri, October 27, 2006 - 7:28 AMI don't like Lush at all. I've never purchased any of their products that doubt that I ever will. Yes, all the different fantasy shapes and colors look cute, but underneath the "all natural" disguise, there's nothing but plain ordinary ingredients (like cocoa butter, shea butter), and essential oils for the scent, that can be found in any organic store and mixed together for one fifth of the price that Lush sells them for. NOT impressed!!!!

Re: Lush Products
Tue, January 16, 2007 - 2:28 PMI was a huge Lush fanatic for many years, ordering online and having stuff shipped from Canada. Finally they opened up in New York and I was so excited! But I rarely go there now, and am completely turned off by the hard-sell of their sales people. There are a few products though that I still love. Dream Cream, I can not live without. This is the only thing that works on excema that get on my hands and legs during the winter. Dream Cream is the best. I still like the Karma smell for soap. Buffy the Backside Slayer is a really good body exfoliator and so is Ocean Salt (for the face too). Most of the skin products suck, though the fresh masks are good. And I never had any luck with the hair products. Also I am very allergic to sodium biocarbinate and many of the bath products contain this indgredient.
