An old miracle zit cure from High School!!

Well I had flawless skin until I lived in the UK for a time and returned with recurring adult acne that sometimes went a way and was sometimes bAAD. Mario Badescu's pink lotion is great but i think I've built up a resistance to it (I had success using it like a cream)
Happily I just tried the new clearasil ultra vanishing treatment with 10% Ben.Peroxide and my skin has not looked this could since before I had issues with it!!
It's been since high school since I've used it btw. I had flawless skin back then, the only girl in school who could kick my butt accused me of wearing 'too much foundation' because my skin was so even and rich. Every morning I would put on a thin layer of clearasil and then a light moisturizer, which is very similar to the Proactive products line -they just use a lighter dose of ben. peroxide.
I will report back after a few more weeks but this is big! No green tea/liver cleanse fast or expensive products...I have oily skin so it can take a product like this w /out any irritation..I'M STOKED!!!

  • cool! let me know if it keeps up the good work! i always get a few really big ones right before my period, i wonder if that stuff would help. i just got that generic Proactive stuff from Walgreens, it's called Klear Action and it works great! i've only been using it for a week and 1/2 now but my skin looks so good that i haven't been wearing foundation. i'm hoping this stuff is going to do the job.
    • I think that it's all a matter of using something that your skin is not used to...since i went off the pill it's been nuts but I'm bouncing back.
      • So it's been almost two weeks, I'm pms-n and my skin is NOT going bonkers. It did get worse for awhile w/ flakiness etc but it's virtually cleared up and best of all, the miracle from high school has the oil under control. I've included the Neutrogena Advanced solutions day and night creams with micro targeted Aha and retinoids in the process too.
They are very powerful, as strong MD or old school Murad, I'll issue a full report in six more weeks.

So it's been six weeks and my skin has definitely changed for the better. mainly it's less oily and breakouts around my perios are only half as bad-which is BIG improvement.I'll report back after another six weeks to make sure it was not a fluke.

Nearly three months and my skin is finally clear!!
No pillls or meds. I was paitient and it actually worked. What's great is that the cycle of breakouts has stopped, I might get one or two around my period but they are gone overnight. I have no more true acne!! And all the AHAs lightened most of the spotting. After my skin gets used to being this nice, I'm going to get a few serious aha peels. If you are at the end of your rope this is what I did...it may work for you!

            1. Twice daily:
            a.clearsil vanishing ultra
b.Neutrogena advanced solutions skin transforming complex with aha and retinols spf 15/night
c.Clinique oil free foundation spf 20 and or shishedo spf 35 stick (spf is mandantory on this program!!)
d.Wet Ones anti bacterial cleansing cloths(for workouts or when i was letting my skin breath
e.Any great cleanser with minimal residue
            f.Eye gel and eye spf
            AND
d.LOW STRESS: I changed my cell phone plan from 3000 minutes to 300 and have made sleep a priority
e.DIET: I try to have an Odwall superfoods everday and eat mostly fruits, vegetables and fish. I did not restrict any food but strictly limit most everything else (eg: one cookie a week instead of twice a day;)
            f. CRUCIAL: a clean pillow case and bedding as much as possible.

Note: I avoided all Saly.acid products.

I just want to make a comment to anbody else reading this post and trying to experiment with Benzoyl Peroxide. Depending on your skin type, BP can be very drying, it can even burn your skin if it's very sensitive and if you use a dose that is too large the first times. I suggest starting with BP 2.5% (the lowest dosage available), with a very thin layer all over. Then increase the quantity gradually to give your skin a chance to get used to it. Then maybe switch to BP 5% if you feel you need something stronger. BP can be very very drying for most people, so always use it with a moisturizer and be careful with it.

Also, if you're struggling with Acne, there's this excellent site full of resources and suggestions and cheap solutions: www.acne.org
It's the best Acre resource site I've ever seen
