Has anyone ever used the Obaji skincare line? I've been thinking about it b/c apparently its very good for resurfacing the skin. My friend is using it right now and it seems rather intense but its working.

I hear great things about it. As a cosmeceutical, it is one of the better ones out there.

The resurfacing probably comes from the exfoliating lotion as it has glycolic acid. Best to check the concentration. Best to find one with at least 10% ahas/bhas. Obagi doesn't specify the percentage although glycolic acid is the 2nd ingredient so it has to be high. Great skin has an exfoliating serum at 15%, I have one by Rationale which is at 18%. I also have a weekly micropeel which is at a 28%.

See if you can sample your friend's Obagi to make sure you don't react to it first. You are welcome to try mine too (I am also in the valley) but the down side is rationale is a pain to get since you have to order from Australia (my set was a gift and I have not had to go thru re-ordering yet but have emailed them about it)

did you ever try the Obaji products? I'm going crazy trying to find someone that can tell me something about how this product worked for them. I'm on my 8th day of using it and going nuts wanting to quit ASAP.

    Thanks

    Sandy

Haven't tried it. I have a friend who uses it and her skin is incredible. However she is 1/4 Filipino.
I use Cosmedix and love it! It too is pretty intense, you can only get it at a Dermatologist.
I also love Zia "papay enzyme mask" for a natural exfoliant.

    I used it.

It peels everything out. You look like cr*p for at least a couple days every week. And they tell you that it is going to happen. After you grow new skin, your skin looks good may be for a day.
But.....I never achieved the results I yearned for. I have very oily skin and unsightly bumps on my forehead and huge pores on my cheeks and nose.
After paying $500 for the startup kit for Obagi at the Dr's office, I did stick with the regimen for quite a while.
Then I found the products much much much cheaper on ebay.

I felt like I was ripped off at the Dr's office which actually I was. If these products were for Dr's offices only, how do you find it on ebay. And if they were supposed to be formulated to that expense at Dr's office, how come ebay sellers can sell them to you at a fraction of that cost????

Eventually with sooooooooooo many many products out there, I concluded that Obagi is not worth the amount of money I'd pour into their pockets. So, I quit. It seemed like it worked very first times I started using it, but then I really did not see a huge difference.

It may work some other people btw. Did not for me.

We have alot of people in our acne clinic that have tried Obagi. Unfortunately, for them, they wasted alot of money for nothing. For one thing, it has a lot of pore cloggers in the formulation. Fine if you don't have acne, but disastrous if you do.

If you are looking for skin rejuvenation, then it's a decent system, but veeeery irritating. Just don't use it if you have acne.
