A recent trip to the Stila counter resulted in some core product switchover. If Benefit's concealers and powders are a bit too heavy, dark or yellow for you, you might like these Stila products:
--Perfecting Concealer
www.stilacosmetics.com/templa...ed.tmpl
--Illuminating Powder Foundation
www.stilacosmetics.com/templa...ed.tmpl
And the Convertible Eye Color pens are super fun.

Has anyone tried their:
--Pivotal Skin
--Sheer Color Tinted Moisturizer
--H2Off
--Hair Refresher
Any other Stila faves?

Mon, December 5, 2005 - 1:05 PMI use her full coverage foundation, I am pale and the A shade is purrfect. Not to yellow, not to pink, ect. Also it works in layers, one layer sheer coverage, 2 medium, and 3 layers wha-la full coverage. Awsome. I dont care for the pivot skin foundation, it was too wet for me, I like a matter finish. The eyeshadows, are great stay on for awhile, nail polishes great actually most of the line is good, if not great. -

Wed, February 1, 2006 - 3:33 PMBenefit concealers run out way too quick. . .I bought the pen style one just before my birthday (Nov. 20th) and it has been long gone. . .as opposed to the Origins concealer which is soooo amazing and it lasted six months. .. . I love Stila though. . if ever in San Jose, go to the Stila counter at Valley Fair mall and as for Laurie. . she is a nude* make-up artist and has worked there for years. . .
*Nude is the new word for wicked/cool. . .spread it!! -

Re: Smudge Pots
Wed, April 5, 2006 - 5:27 PMI am new to this tribe, and just catching up...
I've been using the Stila Smudge Pot in brown for about three weeks. Love it -- and it is quite easy to apply. I have a single eyelid fold and slightly oily skin, and was always plagued with my eyeliner disappearing, or worse yet, looking like a raccoon. This stuff stays put and lasts all day.

Tue, June 27, 2006 - 4:51 PMLove Kitten! Kitten and moonlight are the two I rely on to "wake up" my face.
re: smudge pots... good stuff, but can go on a little heavy if not careful.
it's my understanding that Stila will soon only be available online and in Sephora stores.

Re: Stila
Tue, June 27, 2006 - 12:12 AMTheir illuminating concealer is amazing. It matches my skin tone perfectly, adds an all day glow to my face and makes me look natural and flawless when different lighting hits it... (example sunlight or camera flash).... girls you definately have to try it. I am currently topping it with bare minerals face powder to matte it down just a bit and add a more flawless finish but it isnt necessary. -

Re: Stila
Wed, June 28, 2006 - 3:50 PMI read something about camera flashes before my wedding...I read that sunblock or makeup/lotion containing it can make you look washed out for the cameras. Some celebs don't wear it on their face when their walking the red carpet. -

Re: Stila
Mon, July 3, 2006 - 11:03 PMYep, it's my understanding that the same light-reflecting particles in some makeup or sunscreen (titanium dioxide, mica, etc.) that make your skin look radient and flawless in natural light will reflect too much camera flash and make you look shiny or ghostly in flash photos. After seeing some photos where I looked super pale, I switched from Stila's Illuminating foundation and powder to Shu Uemura's UV Under Base (which works as both a primer and foundation) and Sheer Face Powder. I get the same results if not better. The Shu products seem more natural looking, and no worries with flashbulbs!
