lipfusion? HAVE YOU TRIED IT???

topic posted Wed, June 8, 2005 - 5:09 AM by  mikapixie
hello dears, i am so new here but please help.
after many tries of lip plumpers that disappoint i want to find one that works. who couldn't use a little more smooch?
i found one that promises to deliver, was featured in many pretty reputable mags and has superstar endorsements galore but what do all these sources have in common? they all can be a "buncha lia's"
the object of my interest is lipfusion available at sephora.com. blah, blah something about dehydrated collagen being small enough to penetrate the skin of your lips, absorbing twice their volume in water and thus plumping your lips for up to 48 hrs.
sounds quite plausible!
who has the scoop? and if not on that product, which have worked for you in maximum plumpability?
thank you ever so, mika

I am skeptical times 1,000 - and for good reason! You spend tons of money on products and they fail miserably. And Lipfusion was no different. What really suckered me was the Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval. That really made it seem legit. My boss had seen ads too and we both really wanted to try it so I went to Sephora and dropped nearly $40 on a very pretty tube of thick, sticky, stinging, NON-plumping lip gloss. I was SO pissed off!! I thought when I bought Lip Venom I was mad. Nope, this took the cake for me. The price was insane. The ads show lips that have been plumped to hell and back. You'd have to have some realy raunchy, dried-up, 3-packs of cigs a day, dehydrated lips to get this stuff to plump 'em! Hell, I get more plump out of vaseline. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS CRAP!! DONT DO IT!

Thanks for the review!! I was ready to try it, but I'll save my money after hearing that.

I bought Lip Venom, and the only thing it did was make my lips burn. Which of course makes them FEEL like they are plumper. They didn't look any plumper, though. :(

I have to agree none of those so called lip
plumpers work. I really think the only thing that
works is the illusion you can create with make-up.

I like to do things like put a neutral liner on, just
barely on the outside of my natural lipline then lipgloss,
whatever color, and I make sure I don't do that thing that
we all want to do which is rub my lips together, that ruins the
affect, you want to just set the gloss on top of your lips thickly
almost like a second pair of lips on top of your own.

              Hey there.

Try Lip Injection from Too Faced. It has minimal burn (more stingy) and really does the trick. And it's only $19. I always apply it just a teeny bit above my natural lip line and it gives you a gina gershon "pout" type thing. It also tastes pretty good and gives you a little bit of rosy color as well as being able to use it with your other lipstick. Keep in mind though, NOTHING is going to make the kind of difference that surgery (blech!) or collagen injections will (meg ryan blech!)

lip injection huh, good one and thanks, also just tried rimmell's new volume booster...4.95 cheap thrill, tingly, no angelina jolie but it does smooth out the little wrinkley things on my lips and the tingle makes me feel poutier
                so of course i am.

I'm gonna throw in with the Rimmell Volume Booster as well. Nice tingle, and the vertical lip lines fill in a bit, and I'm guessing the mild irritation from the tingle-making ingredient probably puffs up the lip tissue a tiny bit. Sort of like a good make-out session.

For a cheap test of lip plumping -- try Karma Plump Me Lips. I found it for $4 at Target.

My lips got very tingly (almost a burning sensation) for about 30 minutes, and definitely looked plumper. Plus it's got a cute tube and nice paintbrush style applicator. Good bang for the buck.
